The Taegeuk forms build balance, coordination, and discipline. Select a form to learn its purpose and watch a reference video.

Meaning: Keon (Heaven)
Level: Beginner

Taegeuk Il Jang

Introduces the foundations of poomsae: strong stances, basic blocks, and clean punches. Focus on posture, balance, and direction changes.

What it builds

Consistency in stances, blocks, strikes, and transitions. Timing and breathing so technique stays clean under pressure.

Practice tip

Go slow first. Keep chambers consistent, shoulders relaxed, and finish each move in balance.
